Survey: ASC leader satisfaction falls slightly amid compensation reductions

Satisfaction of ambulatory surgery (ASC) leaders with their current jobs/positions has fallen in the past year, according to the 2025 OR Manager Career/Salary Survey. After reaching a 5-year high of 81% in 2024’s survey, the favorable satisfaction rating fell to 72%. However, that percentage aligns with surveys from several years before 2024 (70% in 2023, 73% in 2022, and 78% in 2021), and 28% of respondents reported being “completely satisfied”, comparable to last year’s 27%. In addition, 2025 satisfaction ratings in several other areas were generally consistent with last year’s findings, except for declines of five percentage points or more in top leadership and staff and physician engagement.
