Six more schools, hospitals launching nursing programs

Six more schools and hospitals have recently launched nursing programs or plan to do so in the future, the November 10 Becker’s Hospital Review reports.

  • Corewell Health in Grand Rapids and Southfield, Michigan, will start the state’s first nurse apprentice program in 2023.
  • Central Main Healthcare, Lewiston, will offer nursing students financial assistance via a new tuition reimbursement program.
  • Galen College of Nursing, in partnership with HCA Houston Healthcare, will open its fourth Texas nursing education campus in Houston. The school will offer a 3-year BSN program starting January 9, 2023.
  • Maria College, Albany, New York, is seeking federal funding to create a virtual reality nursing program.
  • Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, Baltimore, created a policy honors program for nursing students to gain skills in policy analysis and advocacy.
  • University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, is starting a BSN program in fall 2024.

Becker’s also listed four more schools starting nursing programs in September and 11 schools in July. Becker’s will continue to add to the list as they become available.
