OR Manager is a monthly national newsletter for operating room administrators, managers, and business managers in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Articles focus mainly on the business of managing perioperative services staff, best clinical and financial practices, and patient safety.

Submitted articles are reviewed by our editor, clinical editor, and members of our Editorial Advisory Board.

Accepted articles are edited for style, tone, and clarity.

Authors review the edited article and answer queries before the article is published.

Authors receive a pdf of the article upon publication and may request up to 5 complimentary copies of the print publication.

Submission Criteria

  • Target length: 1,500 words, preferably sent in a Microsoft Word document
  • Target audience: Experienced nurse leaders
  • Content: Topics such as quality or process improvement initiatives, education and training programs, technological innovations, and solutions for gaining efficiencies and cost savings
  • Accompanying material (tables, figures, photos) should be sent as separate files
  • Author head shot: JPEGs of at least 300 dpi are encouraged

Note: Accepted articles typically come from physicians or nurse leaders. Articles from industry representatives generally are not accepted. We do not publish any promotional material; submitted articles should share lessons learned or innovative solutions that will help our readers do their jobs.
