Report: Global ASC market projected to hit $130.6 billion by 2031

According to a June 28 report from Future Market Insights, the global ambulatory surgery center (ASC) market is projected to hit $130.6 billion by 2031, Becker’s ASC Review June 29 reports. The projection considers a 3.9% compound annual growth rate from the $85.4 billion total the global ASC market hit in 2020.

According to the report, the US is projected to account for 88.3% of the North America ASC market share by 2031. Germany is expected to account for 31.6% of the total market share, illustrating the continued “upward trend” of ASC activity seen out of Europe. And China is expected to emerge as a lucrative market, holding 45% of the East Asian market.

Here are three other key takeaways, according to the report and as reported by Becker’s:

• Multispecialty ASCs comprised 66.2% of the total market share in 2021 and is set to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 4.3% through 2031.
• Based on modality, the hospital-based segment was projected to hold 60.2% of the 2021 ASC market share.
• Demand in the gastroenterology sector is projected to make up 30% of the total market share through the forecast period.
