OR Manager Conference award winners honored

The OR Manager of the Year Award has long been a highlight of the annual conference, and this year’s winner was recognized on September 22 along with winners of two brand new awards.

Patricia Jean Ljubi, MBA, BA, RN, director of clinical and perioperative services at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio, accepted the OR Manager of the Year award. Ljubi was selected for process improvements achieved by engaging physicians and staff and demonstrating commitment to the “leadership promise” to inspire, innovate, and achieve.

Megan Beaton, RN, director OR at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania, won the new Emerging Leader award, which was developed to recognize newer managers of the OR (5 years or less experience) as they pave the way to the future of patient care and OR management.

 

The new Ambulatory Services Achievement award went to Ellen Carpenter, RN, manager of the operating room at the Center for Advanced Medicine Ambulatory Surgery Center Long Island Jewish Medical Center/Northwell Health System in New Hyde Park, New York.
