OR Manager Conference award winners honored

The OR Manager of the Year Award has long been a highlight of the annual OR Manager Conference, and this year’s winner was recognized on Tuesday, September 18, along with winners of two other awards.
The 2018 OR Manager of the Year recipient is Sharon Udy-Janczuk, MSN, RN, CNOR, NE-BC, director of perioperative services at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. Udy-Janczuk believes some of her success comes from trying again when things don’t work out initially, and finding different ways of communicating until everyone understands. Colleagues who nominated her for the award praised her communication skills and devotion to excellent patient care as hallmarks of her leadership style.
The Emerging Leader Award went to Natasha Luster, MSN, RN, CNOR, nurse manager at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Belinda James, BSN, RN, OR manager at Andrews Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center in Gulf Breeze, Florida, accepted the Ambulatory Services Achievement Award.
