ANA launches COVID-19 vaccine education campaign for nurses

Editor's Note

The American Nurses Association (ANA), on March 15, announced that it had joined with 19 other nursing and healthcare groups, including AORN, to launch a vaccine education campaign titled, “COVID Vaccine Facts for Nurses.”

For nurses to be instrumental in administering COVID-19 vaccines, dispelling myths, and getting vaccinated themselves, they must have scientifically sound and accessible answers to their own questions and their patients’ questions, no matter where they work, ANA president Ernest Grant, PhD, RN, FAAN, says.

Among the 30% of nurses who have not received the vaccine, Blacks and African Americans make up the largest percentage of nurses who are not vaccinated at 46%.

The COVID Vaccine Facts for Nurses website provides nurses and other healthcare professionals access to accurate and up-to-date information, along with expert perspectives about safety, efficacy, and importance of COVID-19 vaccines.

The website is being sponsored by Johnson & Johnson.
