OR Manager Conference award winners honored

The OR Manager of the Year Award has long been a highlight of the annual OR Manager Conference, and this year’s winner was recognized on Wednesday, October 20, along with winners of four other categories.

The 2021 OR Manager of the Year recipient is Mary Anne Douglas, MS, RN, CNOR, Executive Nurse Director of Surgical Operations at Intermountain Healthcare. Her portfolio includes 25 hospitals serving over 215 operating rooms throughout Idaho and Utah. Douglas has demonstrated strong leadership skills for proactively creating a COVID-19 policy and managing elective surgery shutdowns.

The other winners are:

• Patrel Nobles, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CNOR, Clinical Director of Cardiovascular Operating Room at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, is the Emerging Leader award recipient.
• Lisa Schweitzer, RN, BSN, OR Manager at Riva Road Surgical Center, is the ASC Leader of the Year award recipient.
• Janet Quigley, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Nursing Director of Post Anesthesia Care at Massachusetts General Hospital, is the PACU Manager of the Year award recipient.
• Beverly Kirchner, BSN, RN, CNOR, CNAMB, Corporate Compliance Officer of SurgeryDirect, is the recipient of the first-ever Pioneer Leader of the Year award.
