The National Institutes of Health (NIH) program, titled “Research With Activities Related to Diversity” (ReWARD) is now accepting grant applications, the American Hospital Association April 27 reports. The earliest submission deadline is May 5, and the final deadline for the first 6-month cycle is June 5. Applications can be submitted every 6 months until February 5, 2026.

According to the NIH’s Department of Health and Human Services, the overarching goal of the ReWARD program is “to enhance the breadth and geographical location of research and research-related activities supported by NIH” by providing “support for the health-related research of scientists who are making a significant contribution to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) and who have no current NIH research project grant funding.”

The grant will support scientific research in areas related to the interests of one or more of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers and ongoing DEIA activities focused on enhancing diversity in the biomedical research space in the US and territories.
