New ACS Interactive Web Tool Helps Surgeons Avoid Medicare Penalties

By: OR Manager

Editor's Note

The American College of Surgeons has launched a new web tool to help surgeons navigate and succeed in Medicare’s mandatory quality programs: Physician Quality Reporting System, Electronic Health Record-Meaningful Use, and Value-Based Modifier.

Surgeons who do not successfully participate in these programs in 2015 could face up to 9% in Medicare payment penalties in 2017.

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Division of Advocacy and Health Policy has put together an interactive flowchart to help you successfully participate in the Medicare Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive program (Meaningful Use), and the Value-Based Modifier program.
