Joint Commission launches Accelerate PI dashboard report for hospitals

The Joint Commission on February 5 announced that a new performance improvement (PI) Accelerate PI dashboard is now available for accredited hospitals. It is posted in the “Resources and Tools” section of the Joint Commission Connect extranet site.

The dashboard, which is intended to be a springboard for conversations on data, performance measures, and quality improvement during surveys, includes the following subset of measures:

• Central line-associated bloodstream infection
• Catheter-associated urinary tract infection
• Surgical site infection—colon surgery
• Surgical site infection—abdominal hysterectomy
• Clostridium difficile infection
• Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteremia
• Hospital-acquired potentially preventable venous thromboembolism.

The Joint Commission already has launched Accelerate PI dashboards for ambulatory surgery centers, nursing care centers, and home health and hospice organizations.
