Informal gatherings complement manager education at OR Manager Conference

A strong community spirit has been a mainstay of the OR Manager Conference for more than 30 years. Regardless of age, years of experience, or specific job, everyone benefits from peer-to-peer interaction.

In addition to the “Ask Me Anything” breakout sessions that offer informal Q&A opportunities to learn, the following luncheons will take place on Wednesday, October 20, from 12:15 to 1:15 pm local time:

• OR Manager Luncheon; speakers: Vicky Lyle and Patrick McMahon, Owens & Minor VPs of Industry Associations and Provider Solutions Sales, respectively
• PACU Manager Luncheon; speaker: Ronak Desai, DO, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University
• ASC Leader Luncheon; speaker: Vladimir Radivojevic MS, MBA, FACHE, Vice-President/Chief Operating Officer of Adventist Medical Center GlenOaks

The above luncheons will be preceded by the “New Manager Bootcamp” workshop, where Amy Bethel, MPA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, an OR Manager Education Coordinator, will provide managers with less than 5 years of experience in their role with skills to develop and manage operating, capital, and staff budgets; understand variance and productivity reporting; and create mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues in finance.
