Blast from the past: 8 strategies to build diversity in leadership

This Pride Month, we are reminded of the power of visibility, voice, and belonging—and how far we still have to go. As we take part in the celebrations happening this month, it is worth revisiting this February 2023 OR Manager article, titled “Building leadership diversity” and authored by Cynthia Saver, MS, RN, which speaks directly to the ongoing work needed in the perioperative field: building and uplifting leadership that truly reflects the diversity of our communities. The message was not new then and is not new now, but it is still a call to action that remains urgent.
