National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer accepting applications

Hospitals with rectal cancer programs may now earn accreditation from the new National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), the American College of Surgeons (ACS) announced on June 21.
NAPRC is based on successful international models that have resulted in better outcomes and emphasize a multidisciplinary team approach for rectal cancer treatment.
The program was developed through a collaboration between the ACS Commission on Cancer and the Optimizing the Surgical Treatment of Rectal Cancer Consortium, with input from the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, College of American Pathologists, and American College of Radiology.
