Joint Commission creates new SAFER Matrix resources portal

The Joint Commission on May 3 announced the creation of a new SAFER [Survey Analysis for Evaluating Risk] Matrix web portal for information and resources on the scoring methodology that went into effect on January 1.

Among the portal features:

• A webinar and slide deck that discusses the conception of the SAFER Matrix and examples of key concepts.
• A Take 5 podcast that provides a foundational understanding of the SAFER Matrix.
• An interactive video of the SAFER Matrix tool.
• A Frequently Asked Questions video on the most commonly asked questions on this topic.

The SAFER Matrix’s primary benefit is that it helps organizations prioritize areas of risk, what to address, and where to focus resources after an accreditation survey.
