A mid-winter break and two high-quality preconference workshops drew a number of OR Business Management Conference attendees to San Diego on Sunday, January 27.
During “Slice and Dice Data to Improve Patient Outcomes,” a team from Mercy Hospital explained how this concept relates to OR profitability, new service lines, contracts, and the supply chain. This lively, interactive preconference workshop gave participants a chance to explore ways to apply Mercy’s “lessons learned” in their own facilities.
Other attendees opted to earn a few contact hours while brushing up on their knowledge base for the Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) exam during the “CSSM® Exam Prep” preconference workshop. This brand-new offering is the result of a partnership between OR Manager and the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) in Denver, which administers CSSM certification.
