Leading healthcare industry clinicians and experts will set the stage for the latest OR business developments during the 2019 OR Business Management Conference.

On Monday, January 28, David Wyatt, PhD, MPH, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC, will kick off the conference with “Business Intelligence—The Intersection of Analytics and Operations.” Wyatt, associate operating officer/associate nursing officer at Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics in Nashville, Tennessee, is a past presenter at the annual OR Manager Conference and the OR Business Management Conference. He will share his wisdom on how to obtain the right information for more effective decision making.

Also on Monday, attendees will get a taste of emerging trends in patient care, especially the move toward surgeries done in ambulatory settings, during a luncheon keynote by Jeffry Peters, MBA. Peters, chief executive officer of Chicago-based Surgical Directions, draws from his experience in working with many healthcare providers over the years to discuss his vision for the future of perioperative services.

Magic will be in the air on Tuesday morning, January 29, when Michael Karl, mentalist and author of Influence Your Audience, will demonstrate how thinking differently can enhance everyday problem solving.

Tuesday’s luncheon keynote will also open doors to a new universe with the perspective of Judith Pins, MBA, RN. Disruptive innovations and the skills needed to create innovative solutions will be the themes presented by Pins, president of Pfiedler Education, a healthcare education company based in Denver.
