Joint Commission, CDC release new infection prevention resources

The Joint Commission and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on September 11 released new infection prevention resources for podiatry and orthopedic and pain management settings.

Free resources include:

• Guide to Infection Prevention for Outpatient Podiatry Settings (available now).
• Guide to Infection Prevention in Orthopedic and Pain Management Office Settings (coming soon).
• A PDF fillable checklist for other outpatient settings that is adapted from the CDC’s Guide to Infection Prevention for Outpatient Settings: Minimum Expectations for Safe Care.

The resources are part of ADOPT (Adaptation and Dissemination of Outpatient Infection Prevention) Guidance, a 3-year initiative to adapt, enhance, and disseminate CDC guidance on infection prevention and control in outpatient settings.
