Five healthcare organizations raising nurses’ pay

Becker’s Hospital Review on October 25 reported that the following five hospitals and healthcare systems have announced plans to raise nurses’ pay.

The five are:

• Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune City, New Jersey—union contract pay increase between 8% and 11%
• UMass Memorial Health, Worcester, Massachusetts—union contract pay increase between 8% and 19.5%
• UW Medicine, Seattle—union contract pay increase of 4% on July 1, 2023, and 3% on July 1, 2024
• Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota—pay increase of 6% for healthcare workers, including nurses, technicians, and security and maintenance workers
• University of Michigan Health, Ann Arbor—union contract that includes a $273 million compensation package.
