Editor's Note
Recent research by Korn Ferry, a global consulting firm, looks at why employees quit their jobs within 12 months.
Among the findings:
- Feeling out of sync, or uncomfortable, with the company’s culture or purpose
- Lack of understanding of the purpose and value of their role
- Lack of friendly or helpful coworkers
- Lack of attention from managers.
Korn Ferry offers three steps that leaders can take to impact attrition rates:

- identify applicants with a good cultural fit and the right skills
- focus on quality onboarding.
