Healthgrades releases 2017 top hospitals list

Healthgrades (Denver) on February 24 released its list of America’s 50 and 100 Best Hospitals for 2017.

The top 50 represent 1% of all hospitals and are located in 22 states. California has the most at 10, followed by Illinois with 7.

The top 100 hospitals are those that have been in the top 2% of hospitals for exhibiting clinical excellence for at least 3 consecutive years. The top 50 are those that have been in the top 1% for at least 6 consecutive years.

The analysis is based on clinical quality outcomes of more than 45 million Medicare claims over a 3-year period.
