Editor's Note
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on December 16 announced that ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) subject to a reduction in Medicare outpatient payments in CY 2016 because of noncompliance with the ASC quality reporting program may submit a request for reconsideration by March 17, 2016.
Eligible ASCs not meeting all requirements of the program or participating in the program will receive a 2% reduction of annual payment updates.
If the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) determines that an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) did not meet Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program requirements for calendar year (CY) 2016, the ASC may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS.
