AHRQ helps promote Patient Safety Awareness Week

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is working with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement/National Patient Safety Foundation and sister Health and Human Services agencies to promote a wide variety of information and activities for Patient Safety Awareness Week March 11 to March 17.

The annual event raises awareness about the importance of patient engagement and promoting a culture of safety across healthcare settings.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual health observance sponsored by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)/National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF). As the Nation's patient safety agency, AHRQ supports this event to increase awareness about patient safety among health professionals, patients, and families.
