According to the proposed Medicare Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) rule released July 1, 2009, colonoscopy reimbursement rates for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) will decline by 5.6% in 2010, compared with an increase of 15% for knee arthroscopy with repair of medial meniscus.
