OR of the Future presents leading-edge technology

Editor's Note

Keeping up with technology is one of the most challenging aspects of an OR leader’s job. The hybrid OR exhibit, a cornerstone of the annual OR Manager Conference since 2014, is now part of an expanded OR of the Future exhibit at this year’s conference in New Orleans.

Two steering committees consisting of OR nurse leaders from across the US will be on hand to answer questions during two town halls and a happy hour. In addition, leading industry experts will conduct tours of the exhibit.

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, September 18

• 4-5 pm: OR of the Future town hall: Facing the challenges of emerging technologies—there’s no crystal ball for that
• 5-6 pm: Happy hour with the OR of the Future Steering Committees

Thursday, September 19

• 9:30-10:30 am: Hybrid OR town hall: New perioperative technology: What are you afraid of?
• 11:00 am-noon: Tours of the hybrid OR
• 1-1:30 pm: Dessert with OR of the Future experts
• 1-2 pm: Tours of the OR of the Future
