Joint Commission updates ACSS, THKR performance measures

The Joint Commission announced on August 25 that data collection for four new performance measures in the Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery (ACSS) program and one new performance measure in the Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement (THKR-5) program began on July 1.

Programs are asked to submit their aggregate data for the new measures in the Certification Measure Information Process (CMIP).

As of August 3, CMIP was updated to allow data to be entered on these measures. This change matches how data is currently collected for other THKR measures and how ACSS performance measure data is reported out to organizations in the American Spine Registry, The Joint Commission says.
