The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on September 18 revised its COVID-19 testing guidelines that said testing was optional for asymptomatic people regardless of contact with infected individuals.
The revised guidelines say that because of the significance of asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic transmission, testing is recommended for asymptomatic people, including those who have been in close contact with COVID-19 positive individuals.
