Baxter recalls two lots of 0.9% sodium chloride injection

Baxter International Inc has announced a recall of two lots of 0.9% sodium chloride injection, USP, 50 mL and 100 mL, because of the presence of particulate matter. The lot numbers are P319921 and P327635.

The particulate matter was determined to be an insect and was identified as a result of a customer complaint.

Posted 07/20/2015] AUDIENCE:Risk Manager, Pharmacy, Nursing ISSUE: Baxter International Inc. announced it is voluntarily recalling two lots of intravenous (IV) solutions to the hospital/user level due to the potential presence of particulate matter. The particulate matter in each case was determined to be an insect and was identified as a result of a customer complaint.
