Poster Session Abstracts
Managing Today’s OR Suite invites
perioperative nurses to submit abstracts for the 2009 Poster
Session to be held at the annual Managing Today’s OR
Suite conference, Oct 7 to 9, at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. PURPOSE AND GOALS
The purposes of the poster session are to:
- Provide a forum for presenting completed research or in-progress
research with preliminary results
- Present research, performance improvement projects, or clinical
practice innovations visually using graphs, illustrations,
or photographs.
The goals of the poster session are to:
- Promote communication and collaborative research among nurses
- Provide opportunities for exchange of research and performance
improvement
- Explore advances in perioperative clinical practice.
PROCESS FOR REVIEW
- Each submission (without names attached) will be reviewed
by a panel of nurses
- OR Manager staff will determine final selection, taking into
consideration recommendations from the review panel
and a balance among poster topics.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
For each abstract submitted, include one copy of the Poster
Information Sheet
> Format for Abstracts
- Check the appropriate category, research or performance improvement/clinical
practice innovations, in the category list on the Poster
Information Sheet
- For each abstract, submit two completed copies as follows:
1. One copy with author(s) name/addresses.
2. One copy without author(s) name/addresses to be used
for the blind review.
- Unless otherwise specified on the submitted abstract, the
first author listed will be expected to be
present at the conference.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
All submissions must be received at OR Manager by Aug
12, 2009. Notification of acceptance or rejection
will be sent by September 15, 2009.

Registration: Presenters must register and pay the registration
fee for the conference. Managing Today’s OR Suite
does not provide reimbursement for travel, lodging, or
per diem expenses for poster presenters.
