UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas has an exciting opportunity for two newly created positions for OR Nurse Managers. We are looking for dynamic, experienced OR Nurse Managers to manage the daily patient care activities of our operating rooms at University Hospital Zale Liphsy and University Hospital St. Paul, each accountable for 12-13 ORs.

Here, you will be part of exciting, 24-hour OR team environments with national acclaim:
• More than 18,000 surgical procedures a year in two locations, including routine and complex cases, such as heart surgeries as well as heart, lung, liver and kidney transplants.
• Advanced equipment and navigation systems, including 2 da Vinci® surgical systems, a Gamma Knife® and a new hybrid OR.

Specifically, you will:
• Assure efficient utilization of our OR resources by proactively managing the long-range (4-6 week) patient schedule in collaboration with anesthesiology directors and surgeons.
• Supervise and evaluate staff, including conducting coaching sessions and supporting cross training of staff with directors and the education department.
• Collaborate to ensure accountability for nursing standards, evidence-based practice and regulations.
• Assure fiscally and clinically responsible daily staffing while meeting productivity benchmarks.

Position Requirements:
Must have a BSN, current TX RN license and 5 years nursing management experience in Perioperative Services. Master’s degree and Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) preferred.

OR Director

A trauma facility in the Rocky Mountain region is seeking a seasoned OR Director to provide leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating patient care.  Responsibilities include fiscal, human resource, and operational functions and 24-hour accountability.

The ideal candidate will assume a leadership role with the health team in planning and delivery of patient care.  Will also strive for innovative health care delivery which meets contemporary needs and negotiate for changes in health care.

Requires a BSN from a certified school of nursing or a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field. RN license and BCLS certification a must.

At least 5 years of clinical experience are essential.  Previous OR Director experience required.
