FDA: Vital Rx, dba Atlantic Pharmacy and Compounding recall all lots of compounded injectable drugs

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on August 18 announced the recall by Vital Rx, dba Atlantic Pharmacy and Compounding (Pompano Beach, Florida) of all lots of compounded injectable medications because of sterility assurance.

During a recent FDA inspection, investigators observed unsanitary conditions, including poor sterile production practices.

Healthcare professionals and patients are encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to use of these products to the FDA.

UPDATED 08/18/2017. Recall issued for all lots of all compounded injectable prescription medications. Administration of a non-sterile product intended to be sterile may result in serious and potentially life threatening infections or death.
