Cosgrove to step down at Cleveland Clinic

Delos Marshall “Toby” Cosgrove, MD, will step down as CEO of the Cleveland Clinic by the end of the year, the May 1 Cleveland.com reports.

Dr Cosgrove will stay on in an advisory role, and his successor will be a practicing physician, keeping up with the Clinic’s history as a physician-led institution.

Dr Cosgrove, a Vietnam War veteran and a cardiac surgeon, completed his surgical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; Boston Children’s Hospital; and Brook General Hospital, London.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland Clinic's Toby Cosgrove announced that he would step down as president and CEO later this year, but he will remain with the Clinic in an advisory role. The announcement was made at a meeting Monday morning, according to a press released issued shortly after by the Cleveland Clinic.
